After defeating the cult leader, the party finds a hidden door in the wall, but no one seems to be able to unlock it. The group moves on, back to the bed chamber near the spiral stairs to rest.
During the night those on watch hear voices in the halls outside their room. At first they sound nervous and hushed, moving quickly toward the chapel deeper in the temple. Later the voices are heard again, this time louder and wailing and weeping is overheard.
In the morning G’Narsh, Mirra, and Ooga decide to explore the rest of the temple before going back into town with the rest of the party. The go down a small staircase on the far side of the entrance hall of the hidden temple. There they find a simple living apartment with few features other than a bed and a bookcase stocked with books such as The Demonomicon and A Guide to Summoning Demons. G’Narsh burns the sacrilegious books and turns toward a hidden door in the wall. This too is locked, so in frustration G’Narsh uses his hammers to crumble the door.
On the other side of the door the adventurers find a hallway decorated with images of sea creatures and serpents, a menagerie of fangs and fins centered around an iconic image of Dagon. When G’Narsh stepped within 20 feet of the image 4 motes of animated acid appeared and attacked any who came near. Mirra and Ooga shied away safely, but G’Narsh charged forward, knowing the only way to make the motes go away was to destroy the image. However he was unable to finish the job as the motes proved too much for him and G’Narsh was killed.
