Fall of the Dark Tower
Leaving Hukule in the tower to recover from his wounds, the party—Rr’Kath, Gok, Mirra, G’Narsh and Boraheen—resumed their exploration. They discovered a cavern with the gnawed remains of the tiefling caravan, and a pack of ghouls. The aggressive ghouls blocked the doorway, constraining the party’s ability to maneuver, until Rr’Kath used his magic to boldly go through the enemy and attack them from behind. With the enemy’s line disrupted, G’Narsh and Gok were able to close to melee range and attack. Within half a minute, all the undead were down. As they rested, Cornelius the Mitra priest appeared and bleesed the party. Thus restored, they advanced deeper into the tunnels. They released a caged dog, which then resumed its original shape: a silver dragon. Mirra, Boraheen and Rr’Kath negotiated with it, while the two half orcs—not suited for situations calling for tact, rather than tactics—stood back. The dragon was somewhat touchy after having spent years as a captive, and flew off, but first he knocked aside the capstone covering the entrance to the ldeeper part of the temple. Below was a room with a lich, a serpent man, the treacherous Melicia—now with wings, revealing her true nature as a shapeshifter demon—and four jackal headed guards. The party decided to abseil in and attack. Boraheen and Rr’Kath took on the lich—who turned out to have been the one responsible for wiping out G’Narsh’s home town. G’Narsh slid right into the coils of the serpent man; Gok skewered Melicia with two rage-fueled blows, polished off a minion for dessert, and then he and Killer helped G’Narsh with the serpentine Greater Son of Set. Boraheen and Rr’kath contined to hammer the lich until G’Narsh, finally disentangled from the scaly grasp, charged across and delivered the final blow, The party recovered the medallion which Melicia had stolen, and returned it to the White Tower. There they discovered that the silver dragon had returned the belt; those two items, with Boraheen’s ring, combined to work the overthrow of the dark tower. Mitra’s soldiers, grateful for the successful conclusion of their long siege, gifted the party with four magic belts.
